Additional services

As well as painting your miniatures, we will undertake all stages of modelling, including construction of kits, addition of transfers, conversion work and basing.  We can order in the supplies to complete our clients' projects on their behalf, however modelling materials such as specific paint colours, bases, static grass or tufts may require to be charged separately for.  While we possess an extensive selection of Vallejo, Citadel, Army Painter and Coat D'Arms paints, it is not an exhaustive list.  For certain uniform patterns and detailing we may require additional fees to cover the extra time needed to achieve the desired result.  All additional costs will be agreed upon before the commission starts.

Basing

We are happy to base models for clients on pre-supplied bases for 20% of the cost of a Standard Detail finish on their models. Bases will be textured, painted and drybrushed or have a flock or ready made basing mix applied.  Should clients wish their models to be mounted upon different bases to those supplied with models, or in the case of models that come without bases, we can supply bases at cost to the client.   For more complicated basing requirements, including the painting of resin scenic bases, we are happy to enter into negotiations with clients.

Fine details

An additional 50% of the painting cost is required for the complexity of painting certain designs or use of certain techniques, such as heraldry, camouflage patterns or tartan plaid.  This includes non-metallic metal, hand painting shields, pea-dot camouflage, halved or quartered space marine armour schemes, and regimental tartans such as the Black Watch or Gordon Highlanders.

Transfers/decals

We can apply transfers to models, either supplied by clients or sourced at cost, at the rate of £1.50 per infantry model, or £5.00 per vehicle (28mm scale; variable rates at other scales).

Weathering

Vehicles and armoured science fiction warriors can be painted to appear weathered, and where appropriate, weathering powders and other weathering materials can be used.  Weathering is only available for High and Display Detail finishes, and may incur an additional charge depending on the complexity of the process.

Banners/standards

We can supply and/or mount banners for clients. Banners will be supplied at cost and mounted at a rate of £2.50 per banner.

Construction

We are happy to construct models and kits ahead of painting. The following list gives a rough guide to the costs involved for 28mm miniatures.  This is not an exhaustive list of charges as we are aware that the scale of kits will have an effect on the complexity of construction.  Where necessary, we will engage with clients to negotiate kit construction costs.

  • Single piece infantry miniatures will be cleaned and prepared at no additional cost.

  • For constructing a metal infantry miniature of 2 components, the cost is £1.00.

  • Metal cavalry miniatures will be prepared and constructed at a cost of £2.50.

  • Infantry and cavalry mount models from multi-part plastic sprues can be prepared and built at a cost of £2.00 per model.

  • Light artillery pieces cost £5.00 to build.

  • Large artillery pieces cost £10.00 to build.

  • For vehicles or monsters, the cost is 50% of the RRP for the kit.

We are happy to work on pre-built kits, but please be aware we reserve the right to refuse to work on models with extensive flash or mould lines.  Where appropriate we will remove lines from such models at cost to the client.  When a client sends us ready built resin miniatures, we expect them to have been cleaned in soapy water to remove mould release agent.  If this has not occurred, we will undertake this task at cost to the client. Otherwise paint may rub off or not allow itself to be applied correctly.

Conversions

Conversions and kit-bashing are within our abilities, but any converting will need to be prearranged with the client, and will be charged for. Costs will be agreed on a case-by-case basis.
